Ideal way to visit Korcula and explore the islands in one day
Explore the medieval town of Korcula and visit the birthplace of Marco Polo
Stop at the Elaphite islands for swimming and snorkeling
Located 50 nautical miles from Dubrovnik is the beautiful island of Korcula. The Old Town itself is grooved with a succession of narrow streets that branch off the spine of the main street like the fish bone. The fishbone shape was used in Korcula Old Town design to reduce the effects of wind and sun and provide citizens with sheltered and comfortable accommodation. After departing Dubrovnik we cruise past the Elaphiti islands and beautiful bays of penninsula Pelješac, arriving at Korcula town, the birthplace of Marco Polo. Disembark at Korcula's Old Town and explore the medieval town filled with history and beauty, as it displays Korculan stone carvings, Lumbarda Psephism and Ancient Greece artefacts and shipbuilding historical items. Visit the Cathedral, city museum and house of Marco Polo, or enjoy luxury beach Moro with it's famous swing in the sea. Have lunch on the island and explore the local souvenir shops for a special keepsake. After exploring Korcula we head back towards Dubrovnik making stops along the way (time permitting) to swim and go snorkeling at any one of the beautiful bays or coves along the way.
